Pittman Talks Gopher Offer

Jerry Kill and his staff are looking to recruit the best and offered one of the top prospects from Florida and the whole nation for the 2015 class in linebacker Sherrod Pittman.

Jacksonville (FL.) First Coast junior middle linebacker Sherrod Pittman looks to be a man amongst boy on the field being 6-1, 220-pounds. His sophomore season, he recorded 74 tackles, seven tackles for loss and three sacks, which has led to him over double digit offers, but is looking to really explode his junior season and to more offers. The latest offer to come for the physical linebacker was Minnesota and he discusses how it all came about.

"My coach told me that I was getting offered by Minnesota and I was happy when I found out," Pittman told GopherDigest. "A former player of First Coast High School played at Minnesota in Gary Tinsley. I never really knew him that well, but I know they had what he wanted up there and it is good to know that we have had guys go there."

"I don't know a lot about Minnesota. I do know they play in the Big Ten and are a program on the rise. I look forward to learning more about them and having them recruit me."

While he maintains that no one is sticking out for his services quite yet, he will be touring around the country the rest of the summer to check out some of the schools on his interest list.

"I might visit Georgia, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Florida, Central Florida, South Florida and probably Ohio State," said Pittman. "Minnesota could get a visit from me, but I got to balance everything out, so these visits can all work."
