Brice Marich: How do you feel new Head Coach Richard Pitinio will do recruiting the Midwest?
Brian Snow: "I think Pitino will be fine recruiting the Midwest. In general the Midwest is an easy area to recruit. It isn't about connections or being from there, it is about working and building relationships. Pitino no doubt knows how to do that, so I can't see him struggling there."
Brice Marich: Who are the Gophers looking to be in good shape with so far for the 2014 class?
Brian Snow: "I don't know that Minnesota really leads for anyone quite yet, but there is no doubt they have put in a ton of work with Isaiah Whitehead. Also you have to think if they go ahead and offer J.P. Macura, then they will be a major factor there."
Brice Marich: Are there any sleepers Minnesota fans should be looking out for to join the class?
Brian Snow: "Sleepers usually start to come out after July, right now it is the top targets that are getting the majority of the focus and attention."
Brice Marich: The state of Minnesota has a great crop of recruits in the 2014 class, but how will Pitino fair in keeping some of these guys stay home?
Brian Snow: "Keeping those guys home won't be easy, but Pitino is going to try. There are four top 100 prospects in the state, including five-stars Tyus Jones and Rashad Vaughn. How it plays out will be interesting, but one thing is for sure Pitino won't be out worked for those kids."
Brice Marich: What are you hearing about NY SG Isaiah Whitehead and FL SG JaQuan Newton's possibly being a package deal and what are the chances Minnesota has in landing both or even one?
Brian Snow: "I would doubt highly they end up being a package deal, though they did make some waves talking about it, but I think that is just kids talking and not a ton of reality. I think the chances are far better with Whitehead than Newton."
