There has been noise recently regarding Chicago (IL.) Mount Carmel junior offensive tackle Jack White for his connections to Minnesota, but this past weekend he had a point to prove. At the junior elite camp, the mammoth offensive tackle featured footwork and power throughout the camp and got the attention on Offensive Coordinator/ Line Coach Matt Limegrover.
"It went really good at Minnesota," White told GopherDigest. "I did awesome on 1 on 1's and I learned some new things from Coach Limegrover. I just learned fundamentals and things like that. Both the offensive line coach and another offensive coach talked to me and they said I did a great job. They also said that they are looking forward to my film and keeping in touch with me."
With the 6-3, 290-pound massive tackle finally getting to see to Minneapolis and chat with some of the guys on the team, what does he think about Minnesota after his time?
"I would say definitely Minnesota impressed me even more from the visit," said White. "I gained a lot more interest from the visit and the tour the coaches gave me. I talked to some of the Minnesota offensive linemen too. They were just telling me how fun it is and what the program is looking for the future. I got to stay with my cousin Alex and QB Chris Strevely, which was awesome. I got a nice tour around the school and hung with the guys for the night."
While the Gophers seemed to hit on all cylinders with White, how does Minnesota stand in his recruitment?
"Minnesota is my leader and they are the school I am shooting for," White admitted. "They didn't say anything about offering because they want to see my film. I am working hard for that offer and love what they got going on. I can't wait to get back up there."
