Grafton (WI.) Beau Benzschawel is an avid hunter and fisher and even watches Duck Dynasty, but in his recruitment has become the huntee from the many schools hunting him down for his services. He talks about how his recruitment is going and two schools he hopes to hear more from.
"I have seven offers and the recruiting has slowed down, but I'm still happy with the offers that I have," Benzschawel told GopherDigest. "I've got offers from Iowa State, Central Michigan, Bowling Green, Wyoming, North Dakota State, North Dakota, and Northern Colorado. The recruiting process was a little crazy this spring and it was a little overwhelming but other than that it has been fun."
"I've gotten a few letters from Minnesota, but that's about it. Wisconsin has talked to me and visited me at school. I am interested in both schools. I would definitely have to visit and see if those are schools that I want to play football for."
The massive 6-6, 250-pound Benzschawel is one of the most versatile players in the nation by playing defensive end and tight end, but projects to play on the offensive line in college and sits as the No. 59 offensive tackle and a three star recruit by Fox Sports NEXT.
While he hasn't gotten offers from the Badgers or Gophers, he knows how big it would be to see one or both of those offers come his way.
"Well, my dad played for the Badgers, so I grew up a Badger fan," said Benzschawel. "I don't know too much about the Gophers, but I know they are a team on the rise. If I got offered by Wisconsin or Minnesota, then it would mean a lot, but I don't if I would commit because it would be a big decision and I really like Iowa State."
Benzschawel maintains that he doesn't have a top list, but does have one team on top with Iowa State leading and explains why the Cyclones sit on top of the totem pole.
"I don't have a top list, but my favorite is Iowa State right now," said Benzschawel. "I like the coaches, the facilities, the campus, and the college town atmosphere. I want to make it down for a Iowa State game this fall, but I am keeping all my options open."
