The Next Step

The Golden Gophers are in the market for a playmaker on the outside of their offense and are targeting Suwanee (GA.) North Gwinnett wide receiver Nate Brown. He talks about his Minnesota interest, his visit plans and more

Suwanee (GA.) North Gwinnett wide receiver Nate Brown sits as the No. 103 wide receiver and a three star recruit by Fox Sports NEXT, so he is receiving plenty of attention on the recruiting trail, but now he is looking to find out who are contenders or pretenders for him.

"My recruitment is going good," Brown told GopherDigest. "I'm kind of getting a feel for the schools who are waiting to see what I do this season before they make a decision as to offer me or not, but the ones that have offered are showing a lot of love. I still haven't made a top 5 or anything, so I'm open to any and all schools that are showing interest."

The 6-3, 210-pound wide out has offers from Vanderbilt, Missouri, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Yale, Louisville, Illinois amongst many others, but talks about his offer from Minnesota and what he thinks about them.

"One of the Minnesota coaches came out to my spring practice and they saw me and liked what they saw," said Brown. "After seeing me, they offered me on the spot. I was really happy to get that offer. I like the fact that if i choose to go there I could play early. Down side is the weather and distance from home."

Brown looks ahead to what is next in terms of taking visits and is in the process of figuring out where he will be touring around to.

"We have two bye weeks this season, so I plan on taking officials/unofficials to schools during that time," said Brown. "I know one will most likely be to Vanderbilt. The rest will be decided after the season if I haven't made a decision by then."
