Cretin-Derham Hall High School in Minnesota has produced some greats over the years and has another coming in junior defensive end Jashon Cornell, but schools are starting to take notice of their sophomore star running back Brison White.
"My recruitment is going well," White told GopherDigest. "At this time, I believe I am in some schools minds, but at this point I don't have any offeres from anywhere. I believe after this season I might have some offers. I have gotten a letter from Michigan State and some questionnaires from USC, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Northwestern."
The hometown Minnesota Golden Gophers have been pursing prospects out of the local powerhouse and have started early with White already. He talks about his early contact and what he likes about the Gophers.
"I have heard a little bit from Minnesota, but no more then any other schools that have reached out to me," said White. "I am interested in Minnesota and also any other schools that feel I may be able to help their program be successful."
"I like the drive they have to win and even if they are in the rebuilding stages of their program, everyone notices the progress they are making here in. I'd love to stay close to home or even home at Minnesota for that matter, but as I said before I am open to all colleges."
What would it mean to the 5-10, 200-pound talented youngster if he were to receive that Minnesota offer?
"It would mean a lot to me," said White. "I'd feel like the reason they would offer me is because they feel like I can help the program go north, which up in success."
With schools looking at White so early, there has to be a reason and he explains that he isn't your one dimensional back, but can do a lot for your team and hopes that will all come together for his team this year.
"I believe I am a balanced back that offers a combination of everything," said White. "I hope my team can go all the way to state and win it all. I think we the talent and the mental piece to do it and have success."
