"My recruitment is going well," Sam told GopherDigest. "I have been hearing from Louisiana Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana Lafayette and Minnesota. Coach Sawvel is recruiting me and he loves my film. He just wanted to see me in person, but I couldn't make it up there and July. I think if I would have I would have gotten an offer, but he just want me to get a step faster in my forty time, so he said he want to see senior film and he tells me about the school academics and how the staff is changing the program."
"I love Coach Sawvel not only as a coach, but as a recruiter because he is always honest with me. There is a lot of things to like about Minnesota in I love the academics and the student base there and how it is an up and coming Big Ten program."
The 6-1, 190-pound athletic standout talks about what it would mean to him if he was to earn a Golden Gopher offer.
"It would mean a lot because going out of state doesn't mean anything and I would love to play on a national level football stage," said Sam. "I would love to get a degree from a top academic institution like that. I would commit if they offered."
Sam will try to visit Louisiana Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana Lafayette and Minnesota this fall, but has put visits on the back burner for now as he has set his goals and attention towards taking his team far.
"I got big expectations for my team," said Sam. "A district championship and a playoff run are things I want to accomplish with my team and for me, just more offers and big numbers on both sides the ball."
"What I bring to my team is on offense, I'm a playmaker that calls for the ball when my team needs a play I can go up and get the ball on a deep ball. On defense, I cover pretty good, but I need to improve on my tackling."
