At the beginning of the summer, Brookfield (WI.) Central senior offensive tackle Luke Rasmussen only held four offers, but his recruitment exploded throughout the summer and now he sits with 13 offers. What is the latest in his recruitment at this point?
"There has not been a whole lot new in my recruitment," Rasmussen told GopherDigest. "I am waiting to get through the season right now and see what comes up. I have offers from Wyoming, Air Force, North Dakota State, North Dakota, South Dakota State, Illinois State, Ball State, Western Michigan, Bowling Green, Southern Illinois, Harvard, Penn and Yale. I'm also hearing from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Fordham, Boise State and Illinois."
The 6-7, 240-pound offensive lineman has been thinking about the Golden Gophers for awhile and talks about his spring visit he took up there earlier in the year and how much it would mean to land that offer.
"When I went up to Minnesota in the spring, they seemed to have a lot of really good things going on and all the coaches are great," said Rasmussen. "They said they will continue to stay in touch when ever I talk with them. I hope they are ready for a good season because from what I can tell they look like the Gophers are ready for a good season."
"It would mean a lot to both me and my family if I got a offer from Minnesota, but it's tough to know until something like that would happen."
He mentions that for his senior season he is getting his teammates ready for every game and hopefully is going to help be a leader on and off the field. While he is in full swing with his season, he is also taking trips still to schools as well.
"I'm going to try to get out to as many schools as I can this fall," said Rasmussen. "I went to Wisconsin's season opener and had a good time. I am also going out to Harvard at the end of September. Hopefully, I can make it out to Minnesota for a game."
