Minnesota commit, Owatonna (MN.) senior defensive end Andrew Stelter is rated the No. 114 defensive end in the nation and a three star commit by Fox Sports Next. He is still trying to prove his doubters wrong about his game and is having a big season in doing so.
"We're 8-0 and ranked number 1 in 5A," Stelter told GopherDigest. "I'm not exactly sure what my stats are, but I think have 7 sacks, around like 32 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries. I feel like I've improved on my footwork and I'm still working on playing lower. Overall, I need to keep working hard and make myself a better player everyday."
Things are quickly moving for the 6-4, 250-pound defensive lineman and he talks about how it feels to be a senior and being a Gopher next year.
"It feels pretty good being a senior," said Stelter. "It has gone by so fast from my sophomore year to now. It has been a ride and I am still on it. I'm very solid with Minnesota and I'm not worried about Coach Kill. He is a great coach and a great person. I can't wait to put on the maroon and gold jersey!"
The Gophers have two defensive linemen in this class so far with Stelter and Mount Carmel (IL.) defensive tackle Steven Richardson
