Schools are starting to recruit prospects earlier and earlier and one recruit that has already been hearing from teams is The Woodlands (TX.) Christian Academy sophomore safety Luke Hudson. He updates how his recruitment is going and if Minnesota has been in communication with him.
"So far, my recruitment has been pretty good," Hudson told GopherDigest. "Minnesota, California, and Purdue seem to be the most interested, but I'm going to try to reach out to some Ivy league schools also. I went on an unofficial visit a while back to Minnesota and they just told me to come down to the junior elite camp and that they will be watching my film. Coach Glasscock seemed excited for me to come down for camp and I'm ready to go back in the spring!"
With Minnesota having this successful year, many recruits are starting to take attention of what is happening in Minneapolis and the 5-11, 190-pound Texas native safety is one of them.
"I think it's awesome and great for the program," said Hudson. "The coaches really know what they're doing and are really trying to make themselves into a well known program. It's really exciting to see a team I've grown up watching succeed and do what they're doing. Everyone should be excited for the Gophers over these upcoming years because big things are going to happen!"
While the Gophers are having a good year, Hudson is having just as good of a year being very productive on the gridiron.
"We ended 6-4 with two tough and close losses, but were in the playoffs and were headed to Austin, Texas right now to play a 10-0 team," said Hudson. "I know I have a total of 1,700 yards I think and 16 touchdowns. I am really trying to reach out to more colleges and receive that first offer."
"My strength and speed has improved greatly! I'm down to a 4.6 now and I'm looking to improve my overall IQ, coverage skills as well as still working on my speed and strength."
