The Golden Gophers had a big weekend this past week as Minnesota battled for the axe against Wisconsin. This was a big game for one commit as Minnesota commit, Somerset (WI.) senior tight end Gaelin Elmore was on hand to take in the action on an unofficial visit and while the Gophers didn't come up with the win, that didn't damper the mood for Elmore.
"The visit to Minnesota was good," Elmore told GopherDigest. "I was front and center watching the game and there was a fun atmosphere. "They were in a position throughout the whole game, so that was good. Overall, this team and program is heading in the right direction."
The 6-5, 240-pound tight end sits as the No. 25 ranked tight end in the nation and a three star commit by Fox Sports Next. Minnesota has nine commits in their 2014 class with Elmore as one of their top prized commits, but the Gophers and Elmore are still trying to make this class even better.
"I did talk to some of the recruits and I could tell that they were enjoying their time like me," said Elmore. "I also talked to the coaches while I was on my visit and I am just trying to set a date for my official at Minnesota. I did hear from Michigan this past week, it means nothing because I'm a Gopher."
