One of the most talked about official visitors in town for the rivalry game last weekend was Kennesaw (GA.) North Cobb senior running back J'vonte Herrod. He raved about the Gophers before visiting and felt like the trip was better than his expectations.
"The visit was great," Herrod told GopherDigest. "I had amazing time in the Twin Cities and we explored the city and everything. The coaches told me that they wanted me to be the guy at Minnesota. I like Minnesota a lot and they are my leader."
The 5-10, 190-pound talented back, who holds offers from Western Kentucky and Utah State got to share his time at Minneapolis with many other recruits and he talks about how they were feeling the overall visit as well.
"I talked with Dominic McKinzy (Minnesota commit), James Folston and Rodney Smith during my time there. They were all interested like me about the whole visit and we all enjoyed each other very much during the visit. We are all considering Minnesota together."
Many recruits are usually impressed with the facilities, coaches or something else from their official visit, but the highlight of Herrod's visit was the Golden Gopher fans."My favorite part of the whole visit was the fans," said Herrod. "They are very supportive, which is always great to see. They are the best fans and very supportive to the team. I don't know when I will decide to commit, but I know that Minnesota leads for me."
