Gophers Make The Cut

The Golden Gophers have hit the recruiting trail hard and they are looking around to find the final pieces in their class. Minnesota recently made the cut for a under the radar defensive back, so find out who and much more now!

Minnesota is looking to sure up the back end of their defense. The Gopher coaching staff has been traveling around lately and will be having an in-home visit with Cottondale (AL.) Paul W Bryant senior cornerback Patrick Porter tonight. The 5-11,170-pound defensive back talks his new top list and a his strong bond with a certain Gopher coach.

"I got a top three of Washington State, Miami Fl. and Minnesota," Porter told GopherDigest. "I got Minnesota in my top list because they are all good coaches and they want me to have success in life and not just football."

"I talk to Coach Sawvel my position coach a lot. Our relationship is great. We talk almost everyday and he will be here tonight."

Porter is the No. 166 cornerback in the nation and a two star recruit by Fox Sports Next, who that holds double digit offers, but dives into his decision timeline and what the major factor will be to landing his services.

"I do plan on officially visiting Minnesota next month, but I am not sure yet of the date," said Porter. "I am going to make my final decision in the middle January. The main factor when I make my decision is how at home the coaches and school makes me fill."
