Eager To Begin

Minnesota had a big weekend full of visitors on campus and Gopher commit, Wayzata senior tight end Brandon Lingen talked about how his official visit went and how he is ready to begin his career

Plymouth (MN.) Wayzata senior tight end Brandon Lingen committed to Minnesota in the beginning of October just shortly after landing a Gopher offer and this past weekend took his official visit to Minneapolis.

"My visit went really well," Lingen told GopherDigest. "We ate a lot, got to tour all the facilities including TCF Bank Stadium and meet with Coach Kill. We also got to hang out with our player host and my host was Chris Wipson. I had a great time hanging out with him and I got to talk with people from the college that we want to major in, so that was nice."

The 6-5, 245-pound tight end is ranked the No. 23 tight end in the nation and a three star by Fox Sports Next, so he has heard a lot of things on the recruiting trail, but felt the most comfortable with Coach Kill. He talks about the chat he had with the headman himself.

"My conversation with Coach Kill was nothing new. He didn't really tell me anything crazy," said Lingen. "We just talked and got to know each other better. I really enjoyed my time with him and I can't wait to play for him."

With his official visit all done, Lingen is excited and ready to start his Golden Gopher career.

"I'd like to tell the Gopher fans that I am excited to represent them for the next 4-5 years and that I will do my best to help the team succeed."
