Rasmussen Gets First Big Ten Offer

Brookfield (WI.) Central offensive tackle Luke Rasmussen has seen his recruitment on the rise, but recently landed his biggest offer to date when a Big Ten team pulled the trigger and offered him

Brookfield (WI.) Central senior offensive tackle Luke Rasmussen holds offers from Air Force, Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Fordham, Harvard, Illinois State, New Mexico, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Pennsylvania, South Dakota State, Western Michigan, Wyoming and Yale.

While he had plenty of offers already, he arguably added his biggest offer when Minnesota decided to throw their hat in the mix.

"Well, Coach Limegrover from Minnesota came to my school and told me that they were going to offer me," Rasmussen told GopherDigest. "Right when he said they were offering me a scholarship, I was very excited because they are my first Big Ten school to offer. All I can say is that I am very thankful for this opportunity Minnesota has given me."

With the Golden Gophers offering the 6-7, 240-pound physical lineman, he feels very good about Minnesota because of the bond he has created with offensive coordinator/ offensive line coach Matt Limegrover.

"I really liked Coach Limegrover up at camp as a coach and he seems like a really nice guy as well judging by my talks with him," said Rasmussen. "I talk to him and feel really comfortable with him. Our relationship is good."

What are the plans now for Rasmussen in his recruitment and will Minnesota receive an official visit?

"I probably will visit Minnesota on an official visit now and I am not sure where else I will visit," said Rasmussen. "It is too soon to have a top list or even a leader I'd say. I'm hoping to be able to decide soon and a lot of my consideration will be schools with really good academic and athletic reputations."
