Wanted Man

Minnesota have been actively recruiting for the 2015 class and have their sights on the talented local junior point guard Jarvis Johnson. What does he feel about the hometown Golden Gophers and could he see himself fitting in?

One of the top points guard in the Midwest for 2015 is Minneapolis (MN.) De La Salle junior point guard Jarvis Johnson. The No. 13 ranked point guard in the nation and an early four star recruit by Scout.com updates how his recruitment is going and what the latest is with him and Minnesota.

"My recruitment is going pretty well and I am enjoying the recruiting process," Johnson told GopherDigest. I am hearing from a lot of the same coaches and some new ones. Wisconsin, Kansas, Michigan State, Memphis, Creighton, Iowa State are some of the schools recruiting me hard right now, but I don't have a top list yet. "

"Minnesota has always been talking to me. They pretty much communicate on a daily basis and they come to a lot of my games. I talk to Assistant Coach (Ben) Johnson and Head Coach (Richard) Pitino most of the time."

The 6-0, 175-pound athletic floor general feels the Golden Gophers new uptempo style of play installed by head coach Richard Pitino is right along his game and he could fit right in.

"Minnesota fits my style of play and it seems to be a style that can win in the Big Ten," said Johnson. "I am looking forward to watching the Gophers this season and seeing how their season goes."
