Megginson Talks Gopher Offer

With Minnesota putting the finishing touches on their 2014 class, the Gopher coaching staff have been hitting the recruiting trail hard and have been working ahead to next year's class and offered one of the top junior offensive lineman in the Midwest

One of the top offensive lineman in the Midwest for next year's class is Jacksonville (IL.) junior offensive tackle Gabe Megginson. He is no stranger to the recruiting process with offers from Akron, Indiana, Illinois, Nebraska and Wisconsin already, but he added to that total today when Minnesota pulled the trigger and offered him.

"Offensive Coordinator Coach (Matt) Limegrover swung by my school for a minute and later my coach told me to call Coach Limegrover," Megginson told BadgerNation. "I called him and he told me that Minnesota offered me then. I was really excited and can't wait to learn more about the program."

"I know they have incredible facilities, great fans, always have a great program, and I like their coaches and how they run offense. I like everything I know about them."

The 6-5, 290-pound mammoth tackle discusses what the latest is with his recruitment and what the possibility the Golden Gophers get a visit from him as well.

"My recruitment is moving pretty quick," said Megginson. "I'll be at Indiana Sunday and I've been hearing from Miami, Oregon, USC, Utah, Penn State, and Duke recently. I really hope to get up to Minnesota soon. I don't have anything set up, but I'm sure I'll make it up there. I can't wait to get up to Minnesota and see what it's about."
