"I went up to a room called the "DQ Club" and the group was addressed by Coach Kill and Coach Glasscock and Coach Kline, Holtan told GopherDigest. We then met with our position coaches and took a tour. The tour consisted of the Gophers Hall of Fame, The M Club, the training room and the locker room. In the locker room, I talked with Coach Limegrover and Coach Poore about the process and both of them really pushed for me to come up for spring practices and for their senior day camp. Both of which I'm planning on attending."
One of the main questions the 6-6, 270-pound physical offensive tackle had coming into the visit was what he could do to earn that dream offer from the Gophers and Coach Limegrover gave him the answer.
"I did ask Coach Limegrover on how I could earn a Minnesota offer," said Holtan. "He was happy to answer and he said that it really depends on how I develop this summer. He said that it could be at a spring visit after he gets a chance to evaluate my game film or after a camp or even in December/January. He said it differs from guy to guy and that I would take a huge step towards that at camp this summer."
Holtan has been hearing from Princeton, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Michigan State, Missouri, South Dakota State and Illinois State, but really feels to have a top tier relationship with the Golden Gopher coaching staff and explains his relationship with them.
"The coaches are great at Minnesota," said Holtan. "They are open and don't try to keep anything from me. They've been honest and shown a bunch of interest. Right now, I'm closest with Coach Poore and Coach Sherels. I'm sure I'll start talking to Coach Limegrover more and more now."
"My favorite part was either listening to what Coach Limegrover discussed in position meetings in regards to how he does things and what he looks for in lineman. The other favorite part was talking one-on-one with him and Coach Poore. He's excited to have me back for spring practice and camp and to keep working hard and things will go my way soon."
