Kelly Gives High Remarks About Minnesota

Waukesha (WI.) West junior defensive end Marcus Kelly made it into Minneapolis for Minnesota's junior day and enjoyed every second of his trip

Many recruits have raved about his great experience at Minnesota's junior day and Waukesha (WI.) West junior defensive end Marcus Kelly was no exception.

"Overall, the visit went good," Kelly told GopherDigest. "We started off with a presentation from Coach Kill about the university and their way of doing things, then we were dismissed into our position groups where we talked about defensive line with Coach Phelps and his philosophies. After that we went on a tour of the rest of the stadium and finished with meeting with our area recruiters in the locker room."

Kelly got time to talk to some coaches like defensive line coach Jeff Phelps, who gave him some very encouraging news.

I talked to the wide receiver coach for a while right when I got there, but nothing specific," said Kelly. "I mainly talked to coach Phelps and he seemed to like me and at the end of the day he told me "Im close" which sounds positive. I then talked to my area recruiter coach Zebrowski just about the conference I play in and some of the kids and talent coming out of it."

The 6-4, 235-pound physical defensive end thought Coach Kill's talk and the locker room were easily the highlights of his trip.

"I would say my favorite part of the day was listening to coach Kill talk, it was nice to hear his thoughts and how he goes about things," said Kelly. "The locker room was also cool to see again even though it was my third time. I really like Minnesota and I like it more and more every time I see it."

Kelly also notes that his only scheduled visit left is Northern Illinois on March 21st
