Gallimore Adds Gopher Offer

Minnesota has been very active on the recruiting trail especially in Canada and has offered St. Catharines (ON.) Canada Prep Football Academy junior defensive end Neville Gallimore Thursday night. He talks about the Gopher offer, if he might visit Minneapolis and much more

Minnesota is looking to find the best talent and after a good season last year have been trying to keep that momentum going on the recruiting trail. A new hot spot for the Golden Gophers has actually been out of this country in Canada and Minnesota recently extended a offer out to St. Catharines (ON.) Canada Prep Football Academy junior defensive end Neville Gallimore.

"I found out and was offered last night by Coach Reeves," Gallimore told GopherDigest. "He spoke to me over the phone. He said that the defensive coaches as well as himself valued & really enjoyed my film. My reaction was an exciting one especially since it was unexpected for me. I knew they were showing me interest prior to the offer, but I had no clue that the interest would lead to them offering me."

The 6-3, 280-pound physical Canadian defensive lineman likes the fact Minnesota is going outside the country to locate premiere players and will definitely consider them.

"I know that Minnesota has a well developed football program and dedicated coaches that are devoted to their players," said Gallimore. "I like the fact that Minnesota is another school that has good reputation of recruiting Canadian football players and showing them interest."

"I would like to say thanks to Minnesota for acknowledging me and identifying me as someone they could possibly see do well at representing their school as a student and as well as player that could contribute to the Gopher football program."

Gallimore holds offers now from Maryland, Wake Forest, Rice and Minnesota, but plans on visiting a couple place and Minneapolis is possibly one.

"I plan on visiting quite a few schools in the future," said Gallimore. "Minnesota is definitely another school that would be worth the visit. I haven't made any final decisions yet and don't plan on making decisions to which schools I'll visit until the spring."
