Gophers Keeping Tabs on Stevens

Minnesota is evaluating recruits and sending offers out around the nation and a prospect they are targeting is Indianapolis (IN.) Decatur Central junior quarterback Tommy Stevens. He talks about his interest in the Gophers and more!

One of the most highly touted quarterbacks in the Midwest for the class of 2015 is Indianapolis (IN.) Decatur Central junior quarterback Tommy Stevens. Minnesota understands that and has been keeping contact with the talented gun slinger, but is the interest mutual?

"I've received a few letters from Minnesota," Stevens told GopherDigest. "I am interested in Minnesota. interested in anyone interested in me. I actually had a chance to watch them play vs Indiana this year. It was a good game and I'm interested in learning more though!"

The 6-4, 190-pound signal caller currently sits as the No. 39 quarterback in the nation and a three star recruit by Scout - who holds offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, North Carolina State, Purdue, Toledo and Western Michigan. While the Golden Gophers haven't offered Stevens, what would it mean if he were to land an offer from them and would he possibly visit Minneapolis?

"I'd be so honored if Minnesota offered me," said Stevens. "Every offer is a great offer! I'd be honored for their staff to have faith in me to play for them. I would possibly visit them, but it depends if i have more contact with them."

He notes with the ton of offers and interest he is receiving that he has no favorites or anything at this time.
