"It's been going okay," Connelly told GopherDigest of his recruitment. "I went to a junior day at Minnesota and Iowa. I also went up to Minnesota for a visit and spring practice. Iowa State, Iowa, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Nebraska, Cornell, Princeton and Wyoming are trying to get me out for a visit during a spring practice."
"I'm flying down to Arizona State next week for a few days for a visit down there. I've been talking to Coach Thompson down there and he sounds very interested, so I'm going to make it down there for a visit to check it out. I got invited to the NFTC, so I'll be going to that April 12th in Chicago. I also got an invite to the Under Armour Rivals camp and I'll be going to that in May down in Chicago. Finally, I'll be going to some camps this summer. At the beginning of April, I will be going to Iowa and Wisconsin for a visit."
While the 6-6, 250-pound Connelly is hearing from plenty of schools early on, it is no shocker that the hometown Golden Gophers have made their presence felt. However, could he possibly be looking to leave the state?
"They've said that they are super interested in me and they could see me going all the way with them," said Connelly. "They also said that they don't know if they want me for offense or defense yet, so they would like me to go to a camp this summer where they can do some one on one work with me and see where they like me. I'm fairly interested in them. It's the home school for me, but I also wouldn't mind going west to a school out there. I'll probably go for one of their one day senior camps."
