Croney Late Addition To Gopher Class

Minnesota was looking to add some more speed and athleticism to their secondary in the 2014 class and got that boost when Pahokee (FL.) senior athlete Rashaun Croney signed with the Golden Gophers

Minnesota signed 20 players in February to their 2014 recruiting class, but added No. 21 when Pahokee (FL.) senior athlete Rashaun Croney signed his letter of intent to play for the Golden Gophers.

The 6-1, 180-pound, who runs a reported 4.5 forty time took an official visit to Minneapolis this past weekend and reports said he left glowing about Minnesota. It didn't take long before he committed to them and sealed the deal by putting ink to paper and signing.

He is projected to be playing in the secondary and likely at cornerback. His primary recruiter was secondary coach Jay Sawvel.

Now that it is official, Croney is a Golden Gopher and talks about what it felt like on his official visit and more.

"I want to be in a new environment and it feels like a family," said Croney. "I'm ready and excited to be a Gopher. Let's go!"
