Gophers On Top For Femi-Cole

Minnesota was looking to impress Canadian running back Jonathan Femi-Cole at their spring game and he left having the Golden Gophers leading for his services

Minnesota showed last year that they aren't afraid to go north of the border into Canada and find talent when they signed Montreal (QC.) Vanier Prep defensive end Julien Kafo. Now, the Golden Gophers are working on Aurora (ON.) St. Andrew's College junior running back Jonathan Femi-Cole and he was in Minneapolis this weekend for their spring game.

"It went great," Femi-Cole told GopherDigest. "I got a tour around the school, got a feel for the players and coaches. It was a good day. I got to meet the whole coaching staff as well as Coach Kill. He advised me on the academic side of things and talked a lot about the family bond thats there at Minnesota. He also spoke about their run game and how I would fit into it. They are my leader right now."

The 6-0, 220-pound physical running back got quality time to chat with the headman himself in Head Coach Jerry Kill.

"He is a very knowledgable guy thats been in the game for a long time," said Femi-Cole. "Just hearing from the other coaches and players, they all say the same thing about him that he cares for the team and everybody apart of it."

Femi-Cole's stock is on the rise as he is now hearing from USC, Ohio State, Miami Fl, Michigan State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Buffalo, Rutgers and Nevada. Despite Minnesota as his leader, he is looking to visit some more schools coming up.

"I am heading down to Buffalo for there spring game on the 19th and Michigan State's spring game on the 26th," said Femi-Cole.
