Minnesota has actively recruiting the Peach State especially College Park (GA.) Woodward Academy and offered their star running back Elijah Holyfield, but also extended an offer out to sophomore cornerback Antone Williams. He talks about his Gopher offer and the edge he got for his track meet.
"I was at my state tracks meet with my teammates and Elijah actually got and called and past me the phone. It was my coach from back at school and he told me that Minnesota had offered me. My reaction was excitement and it gave me an extra motivation for my state track meet!"
"I don't know too much about Minnesota, but I would definitely love to visit and learn a lot more!
"I have always liked them because of the team compete and play with in the Big Ten."
The physical 5-11, 160-pound corner only has two offers at the moment from Kentucky and now Minnesota, but feels his recruitment is on the rise from his game only getting better and better each day.
"I feel as if my recruitment is picking up and going well," said Williams. "My coaches help so much and I'm really just ready to get on the field. I feel I play with a lot of speed and I love being a ball hawk, rallying to wherever the ball is with my physicality and speed. I'm more of a defensive player, but if they wanted me at offense, I'd be ready and I play both at my school currently."
Williams has not set up any visits for this summer yet, but is in the process of doing that.
