Hayes Lands Golden Gopher Offer

Minnesota offered one of the best in Michigan when they extended an offer out to Orchard Lake (MI.) St. Mary's sophomore RB/LB Daelin Hayes. He talks about the offer and where the Gophers stand for him as well.

Orchard Lake (MI.) St. Mary's sophomore outside linebacker/running back Daelin Hayes is one of the top prospects in the state of Michigan and in the Midwest for 2016. Schools have been knocking on his door and letting him know that he is a wanted man early and often.

The Great Lakes standout received his fifth offer on Saturday when Minnesota and H-Backs/Tight Ends Coach Rob Reeves extended an offer out to him.

"I called Coach Reeves last night and we talked about me coming down to see the school," Hayes told GopherDigest. "He told me he was coming to my school near the end of May and then he went on to tell me that they were offering me and congratulations. He also told me they were going to recruit the heck out of me and to continue to do what I'm doing."

"No, the offer wasn't expected, but then again they usually aren't. I really like Minnesota and they were one of the first schools I was recruited by. I plan to visit during their camp days."

The 6-3, 225-pound linebacker/running back, who runs a reported forty time of 4.55 was looking to end his recruitment in April, but has reconsidered his options and now has a top five.

"My top five are Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Tennessee and Wisconsin in no order," said Hayes. "I am not 100% sure yet on where I plan on visiting this summer."
