Gophers Looking To Make A Splash

Minnesota continues to look for athletic pass-catching tight ends and extended an offer out on Thursday in the Sunshine State to Boca Raton (FL.) St. Andrews junior tight end Jake Bargas

Year in and year out, the Sunshine State produces some of the top talent around the country and Minnesota is looking to make a splash. Tight ends coach Rob Reeves has been keeping tabs on Boca Raton (FL.) St. Andrews junior tight end Jake Bargas, but on Thursday decided to pull the trigger and offer him a Golden Gopher offer.

"Coach Reeves asked me to call them and I was definitely excited since they are in the Big Ten," Bargas told GopherDigest. "I am definitely interested. I need to do more research on them. It wasn't a surprise because I knew they liked me. I'm excited about this offer, looking forward to building the relationships and potentially getting up for a visit and seeing what they have in store for me."

The 6-4, 220-pound pass-catching tight end is developing a bond with Coach Reeves and looks to further strengthen that relationship.

"We are building our relationship and I like him a lot," said Bargas. "He is a great guy."

While Bargas holds 18 offers at the moment, he is really liking the Blue Devils and talks about what has them sticking out for him.

"My recruitment is going well and I have no top list," said Bargas. I like Duke a lot right now. I like the coaches, academics and what they are becoming and are now."
