Minnesota Targets Dorris

Earlier this morning, Minnesota watched Shadyside (OH.) junior tight end Austin Dorris and find out what they thought of his workout and more!

The Golden Gopher coaching staff has been on the road searching and evaluating prospects all around the country. Earlier this morning, quarterback coach Jim Zebrowski watched Shadyside (OH.) junior tight end Austin Dorris and the pass-catching target talks about how the workout went.

"He watched me workout, then we went in the gym and ran some routes," Dorris told GopherDigest. "He said that he loved what he saw and when he gets back that he is going to show Coach Kill and make a decision."

"He has been talking to my head coach for a few weeks and I loved him! He was very easy to talk to. I'm very interested in Minnesota. They are in a great conference with great competition. I like the way he said they could use me either connected or flexed out. I like that a lot."

Dorris is the No. 28 ranked tight end and a three star recruit by Scout.com, who holds offers from Buffalo, Kent State, Miami (OH.), Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan. Still, the 6-5, 220-pound is hoping to that he eventually lands that Minnesota offer because he knows it would be a big one.

"It would mean the world to me!"

"It would be my first BCS offer and to be wanted by such a great school would be awesome. I hope I get to be a part of Minnesota football and I hope they are there to cheer me on."

He notes that if Minnesota were to offer, he would do his best to get up there for a visit. He also plans camping at Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Vanderbilt and Ohio State.
