Gophers Offer Lone Star State Tailback

The Golden Gopher coaching staff is working hard on the recruiting trail and went into the Lone Star State and offered one of their top tailbacks

The Lone Star State has elite talent year in and year out and the Gophers are looking to wrangle up some of that. A prospect that they targeted is Sachse (TX.) High junior running back Devine Ozigbo, who running back coach Pat Poore offered earlier this week.

"Coach Poore came up to the school and told me I had an offer from Minnesota," Ozigbo told GopherDigest. "I was very excited. I think they are a good team with a great running game on the rise! My relationship with Coach Poore is kind of fresh, but he is a seems like a really a go guy/coach. Hopefully, I can visit Minnesota."

The 5-11, 213-pound powerful runner is considered one of the top backs in the Texas after his impressive junior season. A threat to run and catch the ball, Ozigbo racked up 947 rushing yards and 13 scores and 311 receiving yards on 23 catches. The three-star tailback updates his recruitment and if he has any visit plans yet.

"My recruitment is picking up and this is my fourth offer this week," said Ozigbo. "It is too early for a list. Me and my parents will plan that about a week after our spring game for visits. I am just blessed for the opportunity and let's see where this takes me!"
