A under the radar player in the Midwest is Norwalk (OH.) junior running back Breck Turner, who hasn't had tons of attention in his recruitment. That changed in a big way Monday night when Minnesota and quarterback Jim Zebrowski decided to offer him and give him his first Big Ten offer.
"Coach Zebrowski called me last night and told me him and a few other coaches have been watching my film and they all agreed I'm someone they want to offer. Coach Z came to my school this spring to talk a little bit as well. I was really excited and thankful for the opportunity and chance! There are a up and coming team who gets better every year and it'd be really exciting playing for them!"
"I have high interest in Minnesota! It would be great to go to school and play football there. I do plan on visiting. I have a busy June, but definitely will try to get up there in July sometime for a visit. I would love to see the place and what it has to offer, and to get to know the coaches more."
While the 6-0, 195-pound running back is high on the Gophers, he also holds offers from Akron, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Marshall, Toledo and Western Michigan. Still, he is not ready to announce anyone a leader and is looking to hit plenty of camps this summer.
"I wouldn't say Minnesota is my leader just yet because I haven't had a chance to visit them, but they are up there. Most camps I'm going to, they want me to visit after or before the camp like Purdue, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Bowling Green, Miami (OH.), Ball State and Western Michigan. At the end of June I'll probably have a top 5, end of July I'll probably have a top 2 or 3 and I'll be committed by my senior year."
"Minnesota would be an amazing place to play and I look forward to getting closer to the coaches and everything during this recruiting process."
