One of the top high school programs in the nation is Fort Lauderdale (FL.) St. Thomas Aquinas. Several players go on to play at the next level from the powerhouse program and they got another in junior defensive end Wyatt Ray. The explosive and athletic edge rusher received his latest offer from Minnesota and H-Backs/Tight Ends Coach Rob Reeves. He discusses his new offer from the Gophers and his interest level.
"Coach Reeves hit me up on Facebook and told me to call him, so we talked for a while then he offered me," Ray told GopherDigest. "I was really happy about it. The Big Ten is a great conference. I'm really interested in Minnesota. Minneapolis is a great city. I'm excited about everything."
The 6-3, 227-pound defensive end holds offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, Northern Illinois, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Western Michigan and now Minnesota. With a Gopher offer in his pocket now, what are the chances he trips up to Minneapolis?
"I'm definitely going to try and visit Minnesota near the end of summer or during the season," said Ray. "I don't have a top list and all my options are still pretty open. I like Boston College a lot though. They got a good program and good coaches, but I'm really eager to know more about Minnesota and that is why I'm trying to visit."
