Hart Takes Notice Of Gophers

With Minnesota showing a better defense last season, that has caught the attention of several prospects including newly offered Florida outside linebacker Chris Hart

Minnesota has been looking to dip into the Sunshine State and offered Fort Lauderdale (FL.) St. Thomas Aquinas junior defensive end Wyatt Ray. Now, they have offered his teammate in junior outside linebacker Chris Hart. The rising physical hard hitter goes over his Gopher offer, who is a big fan of their defense in Minneapolis.

"It was a very exciting offer and they have a very strong defense," Hart told GopherDigest. "The coach hit me up on Facebook and then I gave him a call. He told me that it is a really good school and it is very nice. He also said the football facilities are nice and is one the biggest schools in the country."

"I am very interested in Minnesota. I watched some of their games from last season and like I said, they really got a strong defense. I am going to visit up there and see how it is. When I go up there and visit, I hope it is a wonderful time and I meet a lot of good fans."

The 6-3, 225-pound Hart displayed his abilities on a team full of Division 1 talent by being the team leading tackler in tackles and tackles for loss at 79 and was second in sacks at 8.5 last season. That got the full attention and offers of many BCS programs from the likes of Wisconsin, Michigan State, Illinois, Pittsburgh, Boston College, Cincinnati, South Florida and Iowa along with hearing from Vanderbilt.

Now, Hart is hoping to narrow things down by the start of football season.

"My recruitment is going very well right now," said Hart. "I don't have a top list at the moment. I would like to make a list probably before the season. I will look at how the coaching staff is, the facilities and academics."
