Minnesota Watches Four Star LB

With around 800 participants competing at the Sound Mind Sound Body this past week, the Golden Gopher coaching staff got to monitor a lot recruits like Orchard Lake (MI.) St. Mary's Prep junior linebacker Daelin Hayes

This past week Orchard Lake (MI.) St. Mary's Prep junior linebacker Daelin Hayes competed at the Sound Mind Sound Body and got time to interact with the Golden Gopher coaching staff during his time.

"I was coached by the Minnesota coaches and they were telling me how they appreciate how I am always focused and like that I am long and they are excited about recruiting me," Hayes told GopherDigest. "They want me and they want me to get down to campus. They were watching me in drills and basic stuff we were learning."

The rising four star 6-3, 225-pound physical defender sits as the No. 7 ranked outside linebacker and added offers at the camp from Cincinnati, Illinois and Western Michigan, but has everyone on the same playing ground.

"Every school has an even interest level," said Hayes. "I love each and every school and each school has something different to offer. At the end of the day, it is going to come down to the best fit for me. Each school has something unique I love about them."

Hayes was a sponge at the camp and took in everything the coaches were preaching especially when Coach Kill spoke to all the campers.

"At Sound Mind Sound Body, you definitely learn a lot things. I learned about Sound Mind being in the classroom and keeping your circle small. You got to pick and choose your friends wisely as possible. The college coaching and little details that will separate you and get you ready all that more ready when you get to the next level."

"Coach Kill is a great guy. What I pulled from Coach Kill speaking is to try to separate yourself and lead by example. I don't know him that well and I talk more to Coach Reeves because that is their recruiter for Michigan, but I definitely look forward to meeting Coach Kill and building a relationship with him further down the line."
