Buford Enjoys OSU Camp

Southfield (Mich.) rising senior Ray Buford has been hearing from Ohio State. The defensive back recently attended the Buckeyes' camp.

6-foot, 189-pound rising senior Ray Buford has been collecting offers over the past year. The defensive back's offer list is up to eight.

"I hold offers from Boston College, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Toledo, Ohio, Buffalo, Bowling Green and Akron," he said. "I don't have any favorites right now. There are a couple top schools that I'm looking at that I'm trying to visit."

The rising senior says he's also picking up interest from some Big Ten schools.

"Minnesota and Ohio State have been talking to me," he said.

Speaking of the Buckeyes, Buford attended their last one-day camp in June.

"The camp went pretty good. I think I had a good showing. I talked with Coach (Kerry) Coombs. He said he liked my performance and wanted me to come back. I'm coming back in July. Hopefully I'll get an offer," said Buford.

Buford will be attending Ohio State'S Friday Night Lights camp.

While he doesn't have a timetable set for his decision, he knows what will be the most important factors for him.

"I'll look at how fast I can get on the field. I want a good program that's tight. As far as my position coach, I'll look at his pedigree, what kind of guys he puts in the league and just how he coaches," he said.
