Minnesota will have many visitors on campus for their junior elite day and especially their annual BBQ recruiting day, which will come next weekend. One of those visitors will be Mayer (MN.) Lutheran junior offensive tackle Sam Schlueter and he discusses his upcoming trip to Minneapolis.
“I will be at the BBQ and junior elite day next weekend at Minnesota,” Schlueter told GopherDigest. “I am really excited! It's going to be fun! I'm not positive who all will be there, but I'm sure I will recognize a lot of kids there.”
The early three star physical 6-6, 265-pound tackle hasn’t heard lately from the Gophers, but looks forward to ramping up the communication again next weekend at Minnesota.
“I haven't been talking to them lately since I've been in and out of camps all of the time lately, so it's mainly the same things,” said Schlueter. “I'm on their radar and they will be watching me in the future, but I'm hoping I'll be able to talk to a lot of coaches at the camp next weekend. I got the chance to say hi to Coach Limegrover at the Sound Mind Sound Body camp, but that is the latest one I've got the chance to say hi to.”
Schlueter has made it no secret growing up, he was a Gopher fan and his strong affinity towards Minnesota would mean even more if they offered him.
“I've always been a fan of the Gophers because they've always been my hometown team,” said Schlueter. “If they offered, that would be awesome! They're a great team and it looks like they're a going in a great direction!"
Schlueter will be done with visits and camps after his time next weekend at Minnesota for the summer.
