While many recruits are expected to be coming in for the recruiting BBQ at Minnesota, there will also be plenty of campers coming into the Twin Cities to impress the Gopher coaching staff like Rhinelander (WI.) junior tight end Luke Roberts at camp.
“Oh yeah, I am definitely I would say excited to be camping,” Roberts told GopherDigest. “I'm pretty pumped. I'm really interested and I think Minnesota would be a cool place for me to end up at. I like the opportunity presented by the camp. This will be my first time there. I would say developing a relationship with the coaches and also just seeing what the atmosphere is like there.”
“I haven't talked to the coaches yet. However, I have emailed Coach Zebrowski and Coach Kill telling them I'm going to camp. Well based on what I've seen, I feel like Coach Kill is the kind of coach that I would like to play for because he seems like a player coach to me. He looks out for the best interest of the guys and the team when he makes decisions. That would be a large upside to playing and attending the University of Minnesota.”
The 6-3, 215-pound tight updates what is next for him in terms of camps and visits for the summer.
“I don't think I'm going to do anything on the camp circuit after this,” said Roberts. “However, I would like to get back down to Wisconsin for a visit and maybe try to get Michigan State and Minnesota.”
