The state of Minnesota is shaping up to have a strong crop of recruits in 2016 and one of them is Saint Paul (MN.) Cretin Derham Hall junior running back Brison White. Big Ten schools have been contacting him and he dives into who all he has been hearing from.
“My recruitment has been pretty good and steady,” White told GopherDigest. “I am just waiting for this season to roll around so things can get started. I had a little talk with Coach McPherson at Northwestern. We were just talking about the coming up season and he was telling me a couple other of the running backs at the Chicago land showcase and that its important that we send tape in after the first couple of games to get the recruitment starting early off in the season. There is Coach White with the Iowa Hawkeyes, also some of the coaches at Iowa State and Coach Kill with the Gophers after there camps and they were just saying that they are looking forward to watching me play this year and how important it is to perform on and off the field."
The 5-10, 200-pound compact and powerful tailback is not hiding the fact he has a hometown love for the Gophers and talks about that along with how much an offer from Minnesota would mean to him."I love Minnesota,” said White. “I feel if a school can tell me that they are looking forward to watching me play then I have no choice then to preform and it is great to do it in front of my hometown team.
“Minnesota is a new and improved team. They have the will to get better and what more can you ask for from a team. Even with Coach Kill’s condition, the fire in his eyes never leaves and his fire shows on and off the gridiron. If they offered, it would mean that Minnesota cares about the well being of their future. I feel like me and also some of the young talent in Minnesota can bring a Big Ten and the ultimate national championship here to Minnesota if we were to stay home and play here.”
With the summer winding down, White gives the latest on the rest of his summer plans and a event that he may be attending.
“I don’t have anymore events planed at the time, but my brother Brian White, which is also a co-founder of P.L.A.Y with Leo Jackson may having something planned for me as well as other young players around Minnesota,” said White.
