Film Study: Dupree McBrayer

Here is a breakdown of Minnesota's newest commit, Newark (NJ.) St. Patrick senior shooting guard Dupree McBrayer. We look at his strengths, weaknesses and overall take

Strengths: McBrayer is a combo guard prospect and what stands out to many is his ability to shoot the three ball. He has excellent range and a quick trigger. The wiry and long athletic guard looks very smooth with the ball and attacks the rim when he needs too. A underrated part of his game is being a very good passer as well.

Weaknesses: When watching him on film, I feel he can attack the rack as much as he likes and sometimes settles for three ball. That is fine, but his shoot selection will need to be worked on and just add more muscle to his 175-pound frame.

Overall Take: Minnesota has a very bright future with point guard Kevin Dorsey and now shooting guard Dupree McBrayer in the fold. I expect them to contribute early and often in this high tempo Gopher offense. I also still fully expect the Gophers to be pursuing in-state point guard Jarvis Johnson and they will be seeing him soon with Johnson officially visiting in September
