Ready To Decide

Dutchtown's senior defensive back Alonzo Craighton has set a decision date and talks about that upcoming decision and how Minnesota looks to landing his services? Find out all that and more inside now!

Geismar (LA.) Dutchtown senior safety Alonzo Craighton announced Monday night on Twitter that he would be committing on October 18th. He explains why now is the right time to decide and what factors he will be taking into consideration with his upcoming decision.

“Me and another player in lineman Hunter Austin are committing on the same day,” Criaghton told GopherDigest. “I’m just happy it is all coming to an end. I have a top five of Louisiana Lafayette, Southern Mississippi, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana Monroe and Minnesota. The main factors for me are what feels like home and how they treat their players.”

The 6-2, 180-pound athletic defensive back took an official visit to Minneapolis back in early September and enjoyed his time there. Craighton has also taken a liking to Gopher secondary coach Jay Sawvel and his sense of humor, but could he see himself playing there?

“It just seems like a nice place to play,” said Craighton. “My recruiter is Coach Sawvel. Our relationship is real close and he is a funny guy. He has this awkward sense of humor and I just find it funny (laughter). Go Gophers and good luck on the rest of the 2014 season.”
