A state that Minnesota is not well-known for plucking kids out of is California. The Gophers are looking to change that and will look to address that. One kid that has interest in Minnesota is Pacific Palisades (CA.) Charter junior middle linebacker Alec Simpson.
"I am definitely interested in them," Simpson told GopherDigest. "It is in a big city and it is in the Big Ten, which is one of my favorite conferences. If they offer, then I will visit.”
The 6-3, 205-pound linebacker sits currently as a three star prospect by Scout and notes that he is hearing from a handful of schools, but is embracing this opportunity to be recruited unlike many other athletes and is loving every second of it.
“I have been hearing from lots of schools,” said Simpson. “I am mainly hearing from Oregon, Washington State, BYU, Minnesota and Eastern Michigan, who talks to me all the time. I mean all the time (laughter). Wyoming is very interested in me as well. I love the (recruiting process) and it is amazing. It is an experience like no other.”
Simpson has 40 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks in four games thus far.
