Kegel Enjoys Another Trip To U-M

The big and physical instate offensive tackle Matt Kegel made another trip up to Minnesota and now has the Gophers sitting in prime position for his services

A familiar face that the Gopher coaching staff has seen over the past few months is Chaska (MN.) junior offensive tackle Matt Kegel. The physical road grader made it up once again to Minneapolis on an unofficial visit to see Minnesota take on Northwestern and left happy.

“I ate breakfast and got to walk around the field, stadium and locker room,” Kegel told GopherDigest. “I did get to talk to the coaches in Coach (Matt) Limegrover and Coach (Mike) Sherels. They asked me how the season was and how I was doing. I don’t have a relationship as good with any other coaches that I do with them. It was good."

The 6-5, 295-pound in-state tackle has been hearing from schools and seen contact pick up recently. He updates his recruitment and who sits in his newly created top list?

“(Minnesota) is in my top three for me,” said Kegel. “My top three is Oklahoma State, Nebraska and Minnesota. I am going to Oklahoma at the end of the year and the Gophers again next week.”
