Gophers Being Patient With Perry

Bloomfield (MI.) Brother Rice senior wide receiver Grant Perry is dominating this season and Minnesota has been keeping tabs on his breakout year

One of the fastest rising players in the Midwest has been Bloomfield (MI.) Brother Rice senior wide receiver Grant Perry. The sure handed Perry has put up monster numbers in his final season with 85 catches for 1,415 yards receiving and 17 touchdowns and credits his big season to his hard work and chemistry with his quarterback.

“Our team has been having a great season,” Perry told GopherDigest. “We are 10-0 so far and I’ve been having a record breaking season myself. The hardwork in the offseason and the chemistry between me and my quarterback Alex Malzone is why things have went so well.”

While the 5-11, 175-pound shifty wide out is small in stature, his game has proved he has what it takes to play at the next level, so has he caught the attention of more schools?

“My recruitment has been going alright,” said Perry. “I was offered by Nevada not too long ago and I am in contact with others. I am hearing from Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Utah and Syracuse.”

One of those schools that has kept tabs on the No. 66 ranked wide out is the Gophers and is definitely a offer Perry would be honored to land.

“(Minnesota) have been telling me to keep doing what your doing,” said Perry. “We really really like you here at Minnesota, but just be patient with us. I like the coaches and the football program and they run things well up there. Coach (Rob) Reeves is my recruiter. Our relationship is good. We talk almost every week.”

“It would mean a lot if they offered. Having someone other than you believing in your abilities means a lot. I don’t got any upcoming visits planned. I’ve been there once before, but sure wouldn’t mind going again.”
