The Gophers are looking to restock their offensive line in 2016 and targeted one that has very good bloodlines in Cuyahoga Falls (OH.) Walsh Jesuit junior offensive guard Jack Wohlabaugh. This rising offensive lineman, who has excellent lineman genes with his dad being former NFL lineman Dave Wohlabaugh, landed his latest offer from Minnesota and offensive coordinator Matt Limegrover, which definitely was a shocking one.
“Coach Limegrover messaged me on Twitter the night before and I made plans that I’d call him later the next day,” Wohlabaugh told GopherDigest. “I called him and we talked about how my family was doing, the weather, hockey and things like that. He then got into my film and talked about the school, program, and how he loved my film because of how low and explosive I am. He truly thinks I would thrive in the program they have and then he extended the offer.”
“My reaction was that I shocked. Coach Limegrover came into school to talk to me earlier in the year and he is a really good guy. All I expected from me calling him was for me and him to catch up over the phone, so when he broke the news I was really excited.”
The 6-4, 280-pound physical lineman already sits as an early three star prospect and holds several other offers, but is definitely intrigued by the Gophers and plans to visit Minneapolis sometime in the future.
“From what I’ve seen its a really great program with a lot of good things going for it in the future so right now I can definitely say I’m really interested,” said Wohlabaugh. “I can’t wait to get out there to see the school and everything and get to know all the coaches more.”
With the offers starting to come in, he breaks down how his recruitment is going and some of the new schools that he’s starting to hear from as well.
“My recruitment is going pretty well I’d say,” said Wohlabaugh. “I have 10 offers right now and some of the bigger schools out of those would be Minnesota, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Boston College, and Purdue. I’ve been in extensive contact with other schools as well so I’d say recruiting right now is pretty active.”
"I’m also hearing Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan, Syracuse and Penn State are a few. I’m going to Ohio State again on March 28th for a spring practice, then I’m still working out a date to get out to Michigan State and Michigan for spring ball."
Wohlabaugh currently doesn’t have any favorites in his recruitment
