Kegel Enjoys Gopher Spring Game

The Gophers held their annual spring game this weekend and had one of the top lineman in the state take in the action, who left feeling the love from Minnesota and their commits

One of the top offensive linemen in Minnesota and in the Midwest took in the Gophers Spring Game this weekend in Chaska (MN.) junior offensive guard Matt Kegel. The Gophers have landed five in-state commitments and a few of them have been letting Kegel know there is room for him to join the fold as well.

“It was great, Kegel told GopherDigest. “I got to chill with the recruits. They always do (try to recruit me to Minnesota). Me, Carter (Coughlin) and Thomas (Barber) are kind of close, so they are always pushing me.”

The massive 6-5, 295-pound Kegel sits as the No. 29 ranked offensive guard in the nation and a three star recruit, so he has been hearing from a number of powerhouse programs and currently has two at the top of his leaderboard.

“Minnesota and Oklahoma State are my top choices,” said Kegel. “I’m drawn between both of them. I will decide late this summer and a main factor is just where I feel best at.”
