One of the fastest rising players in recruiting is Chelsea (MI.) junior wide receiver Bailey Edwards. The long and speedy wide out made it out to a few trips out in Big Ten country with the first going to Madison to check on the Badgers.
“The visit was great,” Edwards told Scout. “I saw so many Badger greats such as Nick Toon, Melvin Gordon and Kenzel Doe. As I’m standing on the sideline watching practice, the staff would come up and talk to me already making me feel like I was apart of the team. I can’t wait to get back there this summer for camp."
“They said I’m on a list of kids to offer, but they do want to see me running routes. That visit did put them as one of my top choices.”
The 6-2, 180-pound Edwards ranks the No. 68 wide receiver in the nation and a three star recruit by Scout, who holds several early offers including one from Minnesota. He also visited the Gophers for their spring game this weekend and just like the Badgers, felt a very good sense of comfort.
“It was also a great experience,” said Edwards. “After the spring game, I was with my brother and the team. The whole time I forgot I was still a junior in high school to how cool I was with everyone. They want me to get back up for a full recruiting tour because due to unfortunate timing yesterday I wasn’t able to do so.”
“I’m very interested in Minnesota along with Wisconsin. Minnesota is one of my top choices.”
