The Gophers hosted several prospects for their spring game this past weekend especially many in-state recruits. Burnsville (MN.) junior wide receiver Keenan Winge took the short hike over to TCF Bank Stadium to check out the action and discusses his experience in the Twin Cities.
“Minnesota was great,” Winge told GopherDigest. “I’ll never forget that experience! It was great getting to catch up with the coaches again got to watch there spring game and when I was there it just felt like a huge family and that’s what I love. I talked with (Linebacker) Coach (Mike) Sherels and (Wide Receiver) Coach (Brian) Anderson and they told me to come around more and come to their camps.”
The 6-3, 185-pound talented wide out is looking to receive that first offer and has been hearing from a few schools, but hopes with camp season quickly approaching, he can impress to possibly land some offers including one from the hometown Gophers.
“Nope, I don’t have any offers yet, but hopefully pick some up at camps,” said Winge. “I have talked a little with Eastern Michigan. They want me at their camp and also Northern Michigan and got invited to Eastern Kentucky spring game.”
“I am very interested (in Minnesota). They treat you as a family and are all around a great program. It would mean a ton (if they offered), it’s the home town team.”
