Gophers Enter The Mix For Panasiuk

With the Gophers off to a hot start in their recruiting class, they are looking to only build on it and offered a defensive tackle they would love to land in Roselle (IL.) Lake Park junior Mike Panasiuk

Roselle (IL.) Lake Park junior defensive tackle Mike Panasiuk is one of the hot commodities in the Midwest on the defensive side of the ball. He recently added another offer and this one coming from Minnesota, who he thinks very highly of their rising program.

(Defensive Line) Coach (Jeff) Phelps called my coach and I got on the phone with him,” Panasiuk told GopherDigest. “I was excited when I found out. I like everything that they’re doing with the program. They’re going to be a good solid program in the upcoming years. I plan on visiting sometime in the summer.”

The 6-4, 285-pound physical Panasiuk, who ranks the No. 36 defensive tackle and a three star recruit by Scout, had seen the communication between the Gophers and him pick up and knows he is definitely wanted in Minneapolis now.

“I talked to them a little bit while they were recruiting Antonio (Shenault) and when he committed. Then there wasn’t much contact, but now it’s up again. They only want one defensive tackle. They think I’m a great fit for the guy they’re looking for.”

Panasiuk doesn’t have a top list or have any upcoming visits planned yet either
