Thomas has new interest from Minnesota

The Minnesota coaching staff has shown throughout their time in the Twin Cities that they're willing to go anywhere in the country for good players as shown by the Gophers taking players from El Paso to Baltimore last year. This year, the Gopher staff is showing interest in Arkansas CB Kiondre Thomas and he spoke with GopherDigest.

"I'm currently committed to Louisiana Tech, but I'm keeping my options open," Thomas told GopherDigest. "I have other offers from Mississippi State, Arkansas State, Tulsa, Eastern Illinois, Jacksonville State and Missouri State as well. I've heard from TCU, Minnesota, Arkansas and Oklahoma State lately too."

Thomas breaks down which camps he's been to lately and what those colleges have told him.

"I've camped at Louisiana Tech, TCU and Oklahoma State so far and I'll be at Arkansas on Saturday. I went to at Oklahoma State last weekend and they told me they'd talk to me soon about an offer and TCU also liked what I did as well. I ran 4.3 40 at their camp, so we'll see what happens here soon."

Minnesota is the latest school to get in touch with the Arkansas corner.

"I think Minnesota will offer really soon," Thomas said. "They hit me up three days ago and Coach Sawvel told me that since I live so far away they're not going to mess around and that they're going to offer me after they have this meeting with the coaches soon. I know that Minnesota is in the Big Ten and it's really cold, but that's about it. I'd be very thankful since it's a power five school and I'd definitely consider them if they were to offer. As of right now, I'd take an official visit there."

Thomas has a list of things he wants to work on before the season starts.

"I'm just trying to get my weight up to around 175-180 pounds and trying to perfect my defensive back technique as well. Everyone is recruiting me as a corner except for TCU as they want me at safety. I prefer corner to be where I play though. The top thing I look for in a school is what they do with their secondary and if their coach has a good background on sending DB's to the league and Coach Sawvel already told me about his. We'll see what happens."
