Blinn (Texas) Junior college defensive end Tralund Webber picked up a few big-time offers this spring and he'll be taking his first official visit tomorrow when he departs for the Twin Cities of Minnesota. GopherDigest spoke with Webber to preview his official visit to Minnesota.

"Lately I've only heard from Kansas, Cincinnati and Minnesota," Webber said to GopherDigest. "Kansas has been saying they really want me and I could compete for a starting spot right away. Cincinnati has been saying they really want me as well and that want to set up a visit sometime during the season. Then I visit Minnesota on Thursday, so it's all good right now."

The Gophers coaches made sure to let Webber know he's a priority for their 2016 class.

"I spoke with Coach Sawvel yesterday," Webber told GopherDigest. "He just said that he's excited about me coming up there and checking out what Minnesota has to offer. It'll be just me heading to Minnesota and I leave early on Thursday morning. I'm looking forward to seeing everything Minnesota has to offer as I've never visited a division one school before, so it should be a great experience."

Minnesota is sitting in a good place heading into the visit this weekend.

"Minnesota is my top choice is I had to pick today," Webber explained. "I just feel like Minnesota would be a great spot for me as they have a great coaching staff and they seem very interested in me. They also play in a lot of big games during the course of the season and that's something I'm interested in doing. Coach Sawvel said they could really use pass rushers and he thinks I would be a great fit. He also said I can come in and compete for a starting spot right away. I'm a three for two years guy as well."

A decision isn't likely to come soon after his visit to the Twin Cities.

"No matter how the visit goes, I won't make my decision until after my season at Blinn is over with," Webber said. "I still wait the opportunity to visit other schools and see what they're about. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, so why not take advantage of it. The most important thing I'll be looking for this weekend is meeting the coaches and some of the players to see what kind of environment Minnesota has. From the players, I'm looking to see how they act around the each other and the coaches. I also want to be around a group of guys who have respect for one another."
