Minnesota has been the state of Texas a point of emphasis once again this spring and one recruit who could be on the verge of a Gopher offer is Houston (Texas) Elsik tight end Amorama Noel after speaking with a Minnesota coach earlier this week. GopherDigest has the latest with Noel.

"I've been to Baylor and Colorado State for far this summer for camps," Noel said. "I also want to try and get to Texas Tech, Texas and Texas A&M for their camps, but other than that, I'll be keeping low-key to get ready for the upcoming season. The Colorado State coaches told me they'll be in contact for sure and I think they'll offer me after the season."

Noel spoke with a Gopher coach earlier this week.

"I had a great conversation with Coach Sawvel earlier this week," Noel explained to GopherDigest. "He said they're really interested in me and are on the verge of an offer. He wanted to get more info about me first though so he wanted to know my current size, GPA, weight room numbers and things of that nature. He said they could use me in different positions from tight end to H-back because of my versatility and speed. It all sounded great to me and I'm looking forward to staying in contact with Minnesota."

Another Big Ten school could be close to an offer, but Noel is in no hurry.

"I think Indiana might be offering soon," Noel said to GopherDigest. "Their tight end coach has been talking with me a lot and we'll see what happens there. I'm in no rush to make a decision, so I'll just take my take with the process."
